The Wedding Singer

Back in the summer of 2000, one night, we were planning to play jailbreak outside. So we gathered at my house to get ready. We turned on the TV, began watching this movie, and ended up not playing jailbreak, because it was so good.

Ever since that night, I've been a huge fan of the Wedding Singer. It was the first time I had ever seen the movie. It's my 2nd favorite movie of all time... right behind Happy Gilmore, another Sandler comedy.

But enough about me lol. The Wedding Singer takes place in the town of Richfield, where Robby Hart, a 31-year-old "wedding singer" resides. The only occupation he holds is singing at weddings and giving singing lessons to an elderly woman. He lives in his sister's basement, in which is also the home of 2 little kids.

In the beginning of the movie, Robbie experiences a huge heartbreak when his fionce' Linda doesn't show up at his wedding. What depresses him even more is that he fell in love with another girl, but she has plans for getting married to a rich, obnoxious guy named Glen Gulia. Compared to Glen, Robbie feels that he has no chance... or does he?

Throughout the movie, Adam foolishly reveals that he believes Julia is marrying Glen just for the money. He even goes as far as trying to become part of a business just to get his own business card, an idea that didn't work out. Julia finds out that he's doing all of this just to attract her, and she tells him she knows he's "above all that material bullsh*t." Robbie regrets telling her she married Glen for the money, because before he knows it, she's on a plane to Las Vegas to get married.

Sandler's job in this movie was very well done, which helped carve the ending to be one of the most moving and satisfying in all romantic comedies. It's my favorite romantic comedy of all time.
