Happy Gilmore

Happy Gilmore is my favorite movie of all time.

Adam Sandler plays Happy Gilmore, a goofy guy who's been trying to play proffessional hockey, but doesn't quite have enough skill. He's loved hockey all of his life, and he claims that it's the only thing he wants to do. His ridiculously hard slapshot, as demonstrated in the opening scene, stuns everyone who sees it. This skill helps him find one of his greatest hidden talents - golf.

Happy finds out that his grandmother's house is being taken away from her, since she hasn't payed her taxes in over a decade. He scrambles for a way to pay for it, when finally, he plays a little golf. A couple of moving guys bet him to hit a ball farther than theirs, and he does. He hits it all the way down the street and nips a few people. He starts playing often. He meets new people, such Virginia Bennet (his new lover), Chubbs Pedersen (his mentor), and Shooter McGavin (his new rival).

One thing leads to another, and finally he gets to the pro tour. A buncha crap happens, and he realizes that he's a natural golfer, and that regardless of what happens to her house, his grandmother is happy to see him succeed in the sport.

An overall hilarious movie with a warm ending.
