Here's an essay I wrote on 6/18/03 in first period, by hand. I delivered it in the form of a speech in front of the class just minutes after the final word was written. I dunno... I just thought it'd be somethin' neat to add.

Thesis: Capital punishment is the only way to justify a murder.

I believe that anyone who purposely kills a person deserves to die. Too many people nowadays are getting away with ridiculous crimes, which really makes me mad.

Seeing that the murderer is sometimes even let out of jail to have a second chance at life is horrible. It fuels me to have an extreme feeling of anger in my gut. The person they killed will never get to see the light of day again, so why should they?

The death penalty not only gives the killer what he deserves, but it also intimidates other potential killers. Would you kill someone if you were promised to be killed by the government after you did it? I don't think so.

The only down side to this "Killing Machine" is the fact that sometimes the person in the chair could be the wrong suspect. This is a huge problem, but with careful government work, that problem could be ended easily.

The fact that horrible people will be removed from this world outweighs the one small problem.

In conclusion, I feel that the death penalty is just. Without it, good people will be killed, and murderers will get the second chance that they don't deserve.
